Jackson Milas is a screen composer known for emotionally resonant, richly detailed scores across television, feature film, documentary and contemporary art.

He is an ARIA and AACTA-nominated composer, and in 2025 won the APRA/AGSC Award for Best Music for a TV Series.

Recent projects include Run (Binge), The Twelve (Binge) Season 3, and the documentary series The Art of Sound with David Byrne.

Jackson collaborated with Tim Minchin on Upright, received an ARIA nomination for his feature film score for The Way, My Way, and earned an AACTA nomination for Best Documentary Score for Netflix’s The Speedway Murders. His screen credits also include BUMP, Stan’s Bloom, Erotic Stories, Meet the Neighbours, and the much-loved documentary series Books That Made Us.

His documentary work also includes Hot Potato: The Story of The Wiggles and Netflix’s Machine.

Beyond screen, Jackson has created large-scale orchestral works for VIVID Sydney with acclaimed Australian artist Leila Jefferys and Melvin Montalban: Temple (2022, D&AD nominated for Original Composition) and NEST (2024, Award AWARD Silver), drawing on the sounds of native Australian birdlife.

Sonatine, Jackson’s collaboration with UK producer Fort Romeau, is signed to Anjunadeep, with a second EP due in 2026. His 2022 solo album Blu Terra was released on R&S Records/Apollo. Prior to his composing career, he fronted internationally successful band High Highs, signed to Elton John’s Rocket Management and touring globally, with over 90 million Spotify streams.

Jackson is currently working on the score for the ABC series Treasure & Dirt.
